Here’s my story and how I came to be where I am today.

History

I’ve spent nearly 20 years building businesses at the crossroads of media, entrepreneurship, and technology. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats — running a family business, owning a restaurant, leading partnerships at a public tech company, and most recently, helping some of the world’s biggest brands turn artificial intelligence into real, responsible revenue.

Challenge

My career took a turning point in 2014, when I left the media world (McGraw Hill Publishing, NBCUniversal) and joined Shutterstock to help grow its brand-new API Product business. What started as a two-person team quickly scaled under my leadership into a global business unit of 75 — changing Shutterstock’s market perception from content to a tech company, creating new revenue streams anchored in Product, and opening doors for Data licensing in ways that hadn’t been done before. 

That experience would go on to shape the way companies think about licensing and protecting data for the AI era.

Ah-ha moment

It became apparent – there’s a need for someone who has built and led commercial strategy for fortune 500s and startups alike, helped them negotiate licensing deals with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Open AI, Bria, etc., and advised leadership teams on how to connect product innovation with sustainable growth. And since my work has helped define the early playbook for how AI datasets are licensed, priced, and protected — I am uniquely positioned to help companies scale their cutting-edge technology in ways that are both profitable and responsible.

Since leaving Shutterstock in 2022, I have consulted companies like Adobe, GoPro, Storyblocks and startups on their AI Commercial Strategy.
